COFFEE AT 9:14 AM

It's interesting

how the engines become part

of this thick quiet.

HAIKU

The haiku is a traditional Japanese poem consisting of three lines. The first and last lines have 5 syllables, and the middle line has 7. These lines rarely rhyme.

SATURDAY NIGHT SOAKINGS

Second bath today,

surrounded by swirling gray-

seeping in, or out?

SUMMER

The kids, they feel it

in their bones; the warmth rides in

with their laughter. Soon.

BREAD CRUMBS

Foolish me, oh child.

You can't give yourself away-

you won't come back whole.

73 DAYS IN MY OWN PLACE

The walls are too bare

I'm ready to feel lived in-

paint my view in blooms.

FOLDING LAUNDRY BY DAYLIGHT

How intimately

I know these threads; every stitch

knots a memory.
